Mobile Electrical Technician

Are you a highly skilled, electrically biased engineer looking to make a real difference in healthcare? NHS Frimley Health Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and adaptable Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance team.
About the Role You will deliver a high quality, flexible maintenance service supporting our commitment to excellent patient care. Your expertise will cover Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), repairs, alterations, testing, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across our Trust estate. This role requires you to work proactively, often responding to complex faults with limited initial information, ensuring our environments are safe, reliable, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.
Main duties of the jobDeliver planned and reactive maintenance across electrical installations and services
Diagnose and resolve faults promptly, ensuring minimum disruption
Support capital projects by witnessing and accepting new electrical works
Maintain compliance with all statutory and Trust specific safety policies, including Legionella, Asbestos, and Electrical Safety
Work safely across diverse Trust environments, including children's wards and clinical areas
Your Skills and Experience
Proven multi skilled engineering background, with a strong electrical bias
Experience with AHUs, motors, digital Building Management Systems, and electrical testing
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
Competent in interpreting schematic drawings and specifications
Willingness to participate in on call duties and respond flexibly to service needs
Previous hospital or healthcare environment experience is desirable but not essential

Person Specification Qualifications- Level 3 Electrical & Testing
- BSth Edition Electrical Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Testing & Design
- GCSE Level 2 English and Maths or the equivalent.
- Experience of working in an NHS trust
- Knowledge of HTM,s
- Experience with BMS controls
- Must be computer literate
- Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills
- Experience of working in an NHS trust
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience in AHU's and Motors.
- Must be able to use basic PDA/Mobile devices.
- Good communication skills - able to read and understand written and verbal.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£32,601 to £39,686 a year per annum Incl HCAS + on call £3,792 pa, + additional £1.45 ph
