Mobile Catering Assistant, Peripatetic - Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and South Preston (Fixed term until 24th July 2026)

Looking for a role that offers variety, flexibility, and a great work-life balance? As a Catering Assistant working across schools in the West Lancashire area, you'll enjoy term-time only hours, with no evening, weekend, or school holiday shifts - perfect for fitting around your lifestyle.

This is a temporary, part-time position, covering sickness, with a guaranteed 16.25 hours per week, and you'll be providing essential cover across multiple school sites. Because of the travel involved, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

In this role, you will:

  • Support various school kitchens by preparing, cooking, and serving healthy, balanced meals
  • Help set up and clear down the dining area, including moving and arranging furniture
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all catering areas and equipment

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a team player with a positive attitude
  • Have great customer service skills
  • Can adapt quickly to different environments
  • Have experience in catering or food preparation (preferred but not essential)
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday - 4 hours per day
  • 20 hours per week - term time only
  • Travel across the West Lancashire area required (mileage allowance may apply)
  • Fixed term until 24th July 2026
