ML Systems Engineer
Posted 1 day 9 hours ago by Nexus Additive Ltd.
NexusAM is transforming metal additive manufacturing by tackling its biggest barrier: the prohibitive cost of part qualification. Our platform cuts qualification time and costs while ensuring traceable, consistent quality.
Location:
London, UK
About NexusNexus is an ambitious seed stage startup building the intelligence layer of metal 3D printing. Our platform, NEXUS, takes multi-modal sensor data and generates actionable insights for quality assurance. Formed at Imperial College London by leading experts in the field of additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence, we're trusted by aerospace, defence, and medical manufacturers, and we're backed by leading investors. We're on a mission to accelerate manufacturing of high-value safety-critical parts with additive manufacturing.
The OpportunityAs our ML engineer, you must have experience deploying and optimising large and complex (yet maintainable) AI systems, and you should be able to do this at a pace most competent people don't think possible. You'll be at the forefront of deploying novel computational approaches and AI models that are already changing how aerospace, medical, and automotive manufacturers produce next generation components.
Core Responsibilities- Deploy multi-modal data processing and inference pipelines (image, time-series, point clouds and more)
- Work with large complex AI models that need novel frameworks and ideas to be deployed effectively
- Partner with our software team to solve complex deployment and inference challenges in resource-constrained environments
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying real-world AI systems that solved genuine business problems
- Experience deploying ML inference in C++ (e.g. ONNXRuntime, TensorRT, libtorch)
- Proven experience with advanced deep learning concepts such as CNNs, time-series models, and transfer learning
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a bias toward practical solutions
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience deploying AI in regulated or safety-critical environments (aerospace, medical devices, automotive, etc.)
- Published research at top-tier AI conferences(NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECVA, etc.)
- Background in manufacturing processes, materials science, or signal processing
- Startup experience or demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Impact: Your work will directly enable more sustainable, efficient manufacturing of critical components
- Innovation: Work at the bleeding edge of both AI and advanced manufacturing
- Team: Expect talented, motivated, intense, and interesting co-workers
- Benefits:
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity ownership
- Comprehensive healthcare package
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and extra Christmas holidays
