MIFID Regulations SME (NOT a reporting role)

Role: MIFID/R Regulations SME (this is not a reporting role)

Location: London (hybrid working 3 days in the office)

Contract: Up to £625 P/D inside IR35 - 6 months with budget for extension

This role is part of the 1st line Risk and Control team, supporting the MiFID/R Regulatory Lead in relation to EU/UK Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation and Directive (MiFID/R). This SME role is for candidates with prior experiences and expertise with EU/UK MiFID/R. The successful candidate should demonstrate initiative, ownership, attention to detail and pride in delivering at the highest standards. This will require extensive coordination with internal stakeholders across businesses and functions (Markets, Banking, Services and Wealth Management).

Responsibilities:

• Drive and/or deliver impact analysis and any work resulting from regulatory change and self-identified issues
• Perform comprehensive reviews of obligations and corresponding controls for EU and UK MiFID/R, for example, related to regulatory change, and their mapping and management internally
• Support the Regulatory Lead on maintaining and updating the reference control library for EU and UK MiFID/R obligations, where required

Qualifications & skills:

• Extensive knowledge and experience of EU and UK MIFIR/MIFID II, with preferred focus on transparency, transaction reporting, data (completeness, accuracy, quality, lineage), and order record keeping.
• Experience in implementing MIFID/R in large/Tier 1 banks (preferably in Markets businesses) in either 1st line or 2nd line of defence. Also have practical, BAU experience.
• Participated in relevant industry forums and monitor changes/developments to relevant EU and UK MIFIR/MIFID II standards and their potential cross-border application.
• Good understanding of what is a control vs process, knows what a good control looks like.
