The successful person will need a high level of technical expertise in JavaScript and React, alongside experience using the Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.

This role is a hybrid role, based at Bradley Stoke, with two days in the office and three days at home.

What You'll Do

  • Develop high-quality software and architecture.

  • Write detailed, high-quality code and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and ensure new tools are fit for purpose.
  • Develop solutions using JavaScript and React, with proficiency in Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.
  • Interface with the business to understand complex or incomplete requests.
  • Provide accurate estimates for business initiatives and challenge existing estimates to ensure value delivery.
  • Own technical debt and assess priorities practically.

What You'll Need

  • In-depth knowledge of frameworks, tools, and languages in the RAC technology ecosystem.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, deadline-sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard engineering practices, including event-driven design, service-to-service communication, Redux pattern, and component reusability.
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the software engineering lifecycle.
  • Passion for automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proactive in eliminating duplication and consolidating technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

In return, we offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including:
  • Free RAC Complete Breakdown Service from Day One.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Option to join RAC's Group Personal Pension scheme with up to 6.5% contribution.
  • Family leave support, paid time off, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Confidential personal support services.
  • Car salary sacrifice scheme after 12 months.
  • Access to discounts on high street retailers, holidays, tech, and more.

Joining RAC automatically enrolls you into our 'Owning it together' Share Scheme, rewarding your contributions and sharing future success.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
