Microsoft Security Engineer

On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Microsoft Security Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based predominantly Remote - occasional need to attend office based in Swindon.

As a Microsoft Security Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
. Development & implementation of the full suite of M365 Defender and Purview capabilities under E5, to enhance the security posture and data governance capabilities.
. Development of automation in reporting & actions to enhance our ability to detect, report, and respond to alerts efficiently.
. Implementation of deception technology (honey pots/decoys) to enhance the security posture of the UKRI network environment by providing early detection and alerting of potential security breaches.
. Implementation of Microsoft Sentinel and migration of data feeds to the existing LogRhythm SIEM to enhance our organisation's security monitoring and incident response capabilities.
. Implementation & configuration of security tools across the M365 E5 suite, as well as additional toolsets, with particular emphasis on MS Defender, Purview and Sentinel.
. Contributing to the review high-level designs, assisting Security Architects where needed and contributing to shaping of high-level designs.
. Inputting to and creating low-level designs and Identifying service improvements and implementing them.

Essential:
. Experience with the full suite of tools within MS Defender and MS Purview included under M365 E5 licencing.
. Experience configuring & implementing MS Sentinel.

Desirable:
. Experience configuring & implementing MS CoPilot for Security.
. Experience configuring & implementing LogRhythm.
