Microbiology Laboratory Technician

ALS has a fantastic opportunity for a Microbiology Lab Technician to join their team in Clonmel.

Job Summary

Perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results. Ensure agreed quality systems are continually adhered to including calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples. Keep laboratory areas tidy, especially designated area. Carry out operations safely in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of customer information. Perform other duties as required.

Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science or related discipline.
• Experience in laboratory testing is a distinct advantage but not essential.
• Excellent PC literacy (Excel, Word).
• Analytical and logical approach with keen eye for detail.
• Strong interest in food science and food safety.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type and Schedule

Full-time, Permanent. 12-hour shift.

Work Location

Carrigeen Business Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (In-person).

Compensation

Starting salary of €31,000, rising within 6 months depending on performance. Additional shift allowance available for staff working on a shift pattern.
