Work Model

Onsite - During term time, apprentices will work 3 days per week on the job at Sanofi Waterford and study 2 days per week with South East Technological University (SETU).

Overview

Join our Microbiology Apprenticeship at Sanofi Waterford and gain hands on laboratory experience while studying towards a recognised qualification. The programme is designed for those who wish to develop a career in a laboratory environment where employment is set to grow over the next 3-5 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiology testing that supports the production of medicines.


• Prepare and analyse laboratory samples, and record and interpret results.


• Follow safe working practices to protect yourself, others, and the environment.


• Maintain laboratory equipment and contribute to a safe, efficient working environment.


• Document work clearly and follow established procedures.


• Work closely with team members and build confidence to complete tasks independently.


• Participate in training and apply learning in the lab and during studies.

Qualifications & Experience

• No previous laboratory experience required.


• Pass (minimum Grade 06) in five Leaving Certificate subjects, including maths and a science subject.


• Alternatively, 250 CAO points.


• Level 6 qualification in a related discipline.


• Eligibility to apply as a mature student.
