Microbiology Analyst (4 on 4 off rota)

Shift Schedule and Compensation

Work 28 hours per week on a 4 day on / 4 day off rota, 6 p.m. - 2 a.m. shift. Base salary £20,435.20 plus a 15% shift allowance.

Role Summary

Perform and guide microbiological analysis to ensure water safety. Analyse and interpret data, maintain equipment, record results and support continuous improvement in a fast paced laboratory environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation and carry out analyses in line with the Laboratory Management System.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Analyse and interpret data, and complete all laboratory paperwork.
• Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment records.
• Enter data accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System within set timeframes.
• Ensure sample stability and turnaround targets for the given analysis.
• Prepare standards, reagents and quality control samples in accordance with company procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant academic qualification or scientific subject at NVQ level3 equivalent or above.
• Willingness to work towards full membership of a professional body.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and laboratory skills.
