On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a MI & Reporting Analyst to work on a 6 Month contract based in London (2 days per week in office).

The Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled MI & Reporting Analyst with a strong background in Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and support the development, delivery, and maintenance of Management Information (MI) solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring financial crime risks through data analysis and reporting, using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Azure Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and timely MI and reporting on financial crime risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Use Excel to source, transform, and present data clearly; create formulas and structured spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and improve the existing MI solution, including manual and automated checks.
  • Gather and validate data from multiple sources (cloud platforms, internal teams, etc.).
  • Conduct trend and variance analysis month-over-month, identifying key changes or issues.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to investigate anomalies and provide context for variations in data.
  • Prepare and distribute MI packs and reports to key business stakeholders.
  • Identify, flag, and coordinate resolution of data defects or script issues within Azure Databricks.
  • Utilise Power BI to build and maintain interactive dashboards and visual reports.
  • Work closely with FCC and wider compliance teams to monitor and report on financial crime metrics.
  • Perform data quality assurance, escalating risks or irregularities when needed.
  • Proactively chase stakeholders for missing information or updates.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven MI reporting and data analytics experience.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, spreadsheet modelling).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for basic report extraction and data queries.
  • Experience working with Power BI for dashboards and visual reporting.
  • Understanding of financial crime risks and metrics.
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets and analyse trends.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at various levels across the business.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Azure Databricks and ability to understand basic scripts.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and data automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Scripting or technical defect tracking.
