MHCA Recovery Worker

Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health Service in Ealing.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As a Recovery Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, both face-to-face and by telephone, creating a safe and inclusive environment. You will assess immediate needs and risks, use de-escalation techniques, and provide emotional and practical support tailored to each individual. Working collaboratively with service users, you will develop safety plans, coping strategies, and appropriate onward referrals. You will liaise closely with NHS teams, emergency services, and community partners to coordinate effective support, while facilitating group and peer activities. You will maintain accurate records, participate in reflective practice, and work flexibly across services, including regular weekends.

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. In this role, you will need a strong understanding of mental health conditions, recovery-focused approaches, and the ability to support individuals with dignity and respect. You will have excellent communication, listening, and partnership-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with service users, statutory services, and community organisations. Experience of risk assessment, case management, safeguarding, and working under pressure is essential, alongside strong prioritisation and time-management abilities. You should be confident working independently and collaboratively, including supporting the induction of staff and volunteers. Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and online systems, together with knowledge of local mental health and wellbeing services.
