Job Description
About the Role 
MEWP Coordinator - Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Duration: Long term project role (anticipated up to 5 years, subject to project completion)
Employment Type: Full time
Salary: Competitive (PAYE)
- Coordinate and oversee daily MEWP activities across multiple work platforms and construction areas.
- Manage and monitor MEWP movements using project tracking and management systems.
- Support the selection of appropriate MEWPs for specific work scopes and operational requirements.
- Conduct weekly MEWP inspections and safety audits.
- Deliver daily activity briefings (DABs) relating to MEWP operations and safety requirements.
- Ensure rescue plans and emergency procedures are maintained, current, and practical for operational teams.
- Manage all MEWP documentation including pre use inspections, daily check sheets, LOLER certificates, statutory compliance records.
- Verify that all operators are correctly trained, licensed, and familiar with site specific controls and requirements.
- Liaise with construction teams, supervisors, and stakeholders to promote safe and efficient MEWP usage.
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, industry standards, and health & safety legislation.
- Previous experience working as a MEWP Coordinator on large scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, nuclear, energy, or major civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of MEWP operations, planning, and coordination.
- IPAF Operator Licence relevant to equipment operated.
- IPAF Demonstrator qualification.
- IPAF MEWPs for Managers qualification.
- Experience managing MEWP compliance documentation and site records.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work within a fast paced, highly regulated construction environment.
- Experience working on major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of permit to work systems and site safety processes.
- Experience using MEWP tracking and asset management systems.
