Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metrology Engineer to support on-site dimensional inspection and validation of mechanical components at the Ag OEM around Basildon location. The Engineer will utilize advanced metrology equipment to verify components against technical drawings and 3D CAD data, ensuring compliance with quality and geometric tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-accuracy dimensional measurements using portable CMMs, 3D scanners, and conventional metrology tools.
• Inspect components against 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Ensure inspection includes all critical-to-quality (CTQ) and GD&T-defined features.
• Generate comprehensive dimensional inspection reports for each component/study, including:
  - Measured vs. nominal data.
  - Deviation maps (where applicable).
  - Pass/fail analysis against tolerance criteria.
  - Anomaly and trend observations.
• Provide a summary overview and findings upon study completion.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in using metrology tools such as CMMs (manual and portable), 3D scanners, and relevant inspection software.
• Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and quality inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret complex 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Experience with dimensional analysis and technical reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
