Metabolic Medicine Locum Consultant Required For Obesity Clinics Cover / Bariatric Patients

On behalf of the Centre for Obesity Management in West Midlands, I'm seeking an experienced Chemical Pathology Physician for a full-time ongoing locum contract.

This is an ongoing locum role.

The role involves:

• Outpatient services - diabetic clinics / bariatric patients
• Clinical Biochemistry Diagnostic Service
• Clinical trials, audits, quality improvement, teaching as needed

Ideal candidates will have FRCPath and MRCP, with experience in metabolic medicine, including:

• Drug treatments such as insulin and lipid-regulating drugs
• Enzyme replacement therapies for inherited metabolic diseases
• Bariatric surgery, e.g., gastric bypass
• Nutritional support via PEG or TPN
• Cardiovascular risk testing for high cholesterol patients
• Use of biologic treatments for cholesterol disorders
• Dynamic or stress tests for various conditions

Specialist accreditation is advantageous but not mandatory for relevant experience candidates.
