SimoTech has an opportunity for a Junior MES (Tulip)Engineer to join our team, supporting one of our multinational clients based inCork. This is a hands-on delivery role where you will contribute to the design,configuration, testing, and support of MES solutions built in Tulip. You willwork closely with experienced Engineers, the Project Manager, and TechnicalLead to help deliver validated digital manufacturing applications, includingworkflows for Electronic Batch Records, Weigh & Dispense, equipment logbooks,and other shopfloor execution processes.
In this role, you will alsohave the opportunity to directly shape how manufacturing activities aredigitised and executed on the shopfloor, ensuring critical operational stepsare captured accurately and compliantly. You will support the implementation ofstructured delivery practices, including Agile/Scrum ways of working, helpingthe team maintain clarity, consistency, and steady progress across developmentand testing activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisationaland communication skills, with a willingness to learn MES systems, validationpractices (CSV), and Tulip application development within a GxP-regulatedmanufacturing environment.
KeyResponsibilities
- Supportthe design, configuration, and maintenance of MES applications using Tulip.
- Developand update simple Tulip apps/workflows to digitise shopfloor activities.
- Workwith manufacturing SMEs to understand manual or paper-based processes andtranslate them into digital workflows.
- Supportcapture of manufacturing tasks (e.g. sampling, manual checks, equipmentinteractions, confirmations).
- Assistin testing (SAT/UAT) of MES applications and document results clearly.
- SupportComputer System Validation (CSV) activities including documentation andexecution of test scripts.
- Helpensure all system changes are correctly tested, documented, and compliant withGxP requirements.
- Logand track issues, enhancements, and actions during project delivery.
- Workclosely with senior engineers, project leads, and validation teams.
- Supportdata integrity and traceability across MES workflows.
- Participatein continuous improvement of shopfloor digital solutions.
- Assistin maintaining clear documentation for workflows, configurations, and testevidence.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ComputerScience, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical,systems, automation, validation, or IT support role (pharma/life sciencesexperience desirable but not essential).
- Interest in manufacturing systems, digitaltools, and shopfloor operations.
- Exposure to or willingness to learn MESsystems, ideally Tulip.
- Basic understanding of testing, validation, orstructured documentation practices (CSV experience a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness towork in regulated environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to workwith cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing).
- Proactive attitude with willingness to learnTakeownership of assigned tasks and drive progress of project activities.
- Ability to manage multiple small tasks andpriorities with guidance from senior team members.
