MEPH Commercial Director - London

Balfour Beatty is recruiting a permanent MEPH Commercial Director in London for the Old Oak Common station project. The role leads the commercial delivery of major mechanical, electrical, plumbing and health packages. It is part of the senior project leadership structure and manages a commercial team working across complex subcontract arrangements.

Responsibilities include setting commercial direction, controlling budgets and forecasts, and administering notices, payments, change and final accounts. The director leads tender assessment and negotiations, recommends subcontract awards and monitors subcontractor performance. Claims, disputes and commercial risks must be managed alongside cost reporting and escalation of performance issues.

The appointment also involves coaching commercial staff and coordinating with engineering, operations, planning, finance and project-controls colleagues. The employer seeks a senior commercial leader with substantial MEP delivery and subcontract-management experience on high-value projects. Candidates must understand complex NEC arrangements and be able to interpret contractual obligations.
