An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner/ Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) to join the City South Local Mental Health Team (LMHT).

LMHT is a community-based service which operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Main duties of the jobThe LMHTs provide mental health services for adults across Nottinghamshire.
We help patients and their families cope with periods of severe mental illness and assess, plan and implement a personalised path of recovery. Some of our patients may require short term intervention, and sometimes longer term care plans will be put in place.
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player, working within a dynamic multi disciplinary team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability and experience to manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies. In return the successful applicant will receive training and support to develop specific therapeutic skills to enable them to provide a high quality service to our patients and their families.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Person Specification Qualifications- Professional Qualification (Mental Health) to degree level or equivalent
- Maintains current registration with the NMC.
- Practice based educator qualification or equivalent (or prepared to undertake training)
- Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration
- Evidence of post registration/specialist qualification in specific service area or other formal training
- Ability to work as part of an MDT
- Good skills in assessment, intervention and evaluation of service users care
- Ability to prioritise work
- Interpersonal skills
- Clinical supervision skills
- Working within a mental health clinical setting
- The ability to deal with and resolve conflict
- Experience of working within adult community setting
- Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments
- Knowledge of Code of Practice
- Awareness of national and local issues impacting care
- Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
