Job Description
Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for full time, Band 5 Registered Nurse with the prison Substance Use and Recovery Team, the NHS treatment service for people with alcohol and drug dependence problems. The team works closely with partner agencies to move towards integration of services, allowing greater flexibility of treatment options.

Responsibilities
  • Day to day management of a caseload under the supervision of the team leader.
  • Providing assessment, care planning and treatment for people referred with substance use dependence problems.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • First level mental health nursing registration.
  • Experience working with people with substance use problems.
  • Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Employment Terms

From 1 April 2026, the full time Agenda for Change working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so pay will not be affected.
