Medical Receptionist/Administrator

We are looking for two experienced Receptionists / Administrators to join our friendly team. Previous experience within a busy GP Practice is essential, along with a good working knowledge of SystmOne clinical system / Accurx, so you are able to hit the ground running, supporting our team and patients.
The ideal candidates must be confident, a quick learner, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, have a polite telephone manner along with the ability to deal with sensitive / confidential issues appropriately whilst remaining calm under pressure.
Candidates must be able to work cohesively as part of a team and be capable of working in a fast paced and at times stressful environment. Positivity and a robust nature are a must!
Main duties of the jobDuties to include, but not limited to:
- Booking appointments
- Answering calls
- Taking messages
- Printing prescriptions
- Generating pathology / Xray forms
- Scanning / opening post
- Registering new patients
- Filing
- Secretarial administration / referrals
- Opening & Closing premises in line with shift pattern
- Youwill be required to cover additional hours re staff holidays and sicknesssometimes at short notice, which may include a later finish.
- Attendanceat staff meetings / training may at times be in addition to your contractedhours.

We are members of the local Primary Care Network providing extended services as a hub to the local community. We also work with Allied Health professionals together with an expanding complement of ARRs staff including Physicians Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist, Community Paramedic, Community Midwife, Health and Wellbeing Advisor, Care Co-ordinator, Social Prescribers and First contact physio, Dietician etc. There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within our catchment area providing an interesting and varied case mix.

Hours of work:
Role 1 is 38 hours per week as follows:
Monday 8am - 6.30pm
Thursday 8am - 6.30pm
Friday 8am - 6.30pm
Role 2 is 38 hours per week as follows:
Monday 8am - 6.30pm
Tuesday 8am - 6.30pm
Thursday 8am - 6.30pm
Friday 8am - 6.30pm
Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour
Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks annual leave inclusive of bank holidays. Entitlements are pro-rata for part-time employees.
Pension: Option to join NHS Pension scheme.
