Job Description
Overview

We are looking for the right candidate to join as Medical Receptionist in our team. This is a part-time position for 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are in the mornings 08:00-13:00 or afternoons 13:30-18:30, with overtime on Saturdays or Sundays once a month minimum as required by the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors to the practice.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented (where required) and redirected accordingly.
  • Book, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice procedures to ensure optimal efficiency of the appointment system.
  • Deal with patient queries which may include calling hospital for copies of letters, lab reports or related items.
  • Ensure all tasks sent by GPs and admin staff are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure clinical rooms, reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy and are equipped with hand towels.
  • Keep up to date with mandatory trainings.
  • Re-stocking of information leaflets or any other relevant information as appropriate.
  • Check emails on a daily basis and regularly check practice general emails.
  • Work safely at all times in accordance with GDPR legislation requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.

We are a large forward thinking practice of 15,000 patients, providing quality healthcare and outcomes for our patients in the North Trafford area. We operate from two sites Chester Road and Seymour Grove.

We are looking for the right candidate to join as Medical Receptionist in our team.

Our practice has been rated as Good by the CQC and we take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. We are part of North Trafford Primary Care Network, one of the partners is the Clinical Director.

We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide a digital platform to our patients.

Qualifications
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience
  • Experience of working in the same role, preferably in health care services
  • Experience of customer service
  • Experience of working in a GP practice
