Job Title: Medical Receptionist (EMIS & Docman Experienced)

Location: Ashton, Hyde, Stalybridge, Oldham, Mossley and surrounding areas
Hours: 0-50 hours per week (flexible / ad hoc / full-time available)
Pay Rate: £16.00+ per hour (dependent on experience)

Overview

We are seeking experienced and reliable Medical Receptionists with strong working knowledge of EMIS Web and Docman to support GP practices across multiple locations including Ashton, Hyde, Stalybridge, Oldham, Mossley and surrounding areas.

This is a flexible role offering between 0-50 hours per week, ideal for candidates seeking part-time, full-time, or ad hoc shifts across different practice settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing front desk operations in a busy GP surgery
• Using EMIS Web for:
  • Patient registrations
  • Booking appointments
  • Processing repeat prescriptions
  • Updating patient records
  • Workflow management
• Processing clinical correspondence via Docman
• Handling high volumes of incoming calls
• Signposting patients appropriately
• Managing patient queries with professionalism and confidentiality
• Liaising with GPs, nurses and practice staff
• Maintaining accurate patient records in line with GDPR
• Supporting general administrative tasks as required

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting
• Strong working knowledge of EMIS Web
• Experience using Docman for document workflow
• Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new environments
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and NHS procedures
• Flexible availability to travel across multiple sites

Desirable

• Experience covering multiple practices
• Knowledge of NHS appointment systems and triage processes
• Experience handling prescription queries
• Ability to manage busy reception environments confidently
