Job Description

Working up to 30 hours per week, operating as part of our reception teamto receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service orhealthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide generalassistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image topatients and other visitors, either in person or on the telephone.

Main duties of the job

Dealwith all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-upappointments.

Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is providedto patients and any other visitors to the Practice

Receiveand make telephone calls as required.

Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail andprompt appropriate delivery.

Recordrequests for home visits, ensuring careful recording of all relevantdetails.

Processrepeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collectionby the patient within 48 hours.

Enterpatient information on to the computer as required.

Undertakeany other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the managementteam.

Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE standard, grade C/4 in English Language & Mathematics
  • NVQ L2 qualification in relevant area (or equivalent)
