Job Title: Media Studies Teacher

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Media Studies Teacher to join a dynamic and forward thinking secondary school in Rugby. The successful candidate will be passionate about media, film, and digital culture, and committed to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5.
You will play a key role in developing students' analytical, creative, and technical skills, preparing them for further education and careers within the media and creative industries.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality Media Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across KS4 and KS5, including GCSE and A-Level Media Studies
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Support students in developing both theoretical understanding and practical media production skills
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities (e.g. film clubs, media projects)
- Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental success
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Media Studies, Film, Communications, or a related subject
- Experience teaching Media Studies at secondary level (KS4/KS5 preferred)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for media and digital culture
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
