Role Overview This role leads underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, and team management across a specialist media, property and liability portfolio .The position requires a highly experienced senior underwriter or underwriting manager with a focus on cross-class commercial combined business , a strong understanding of facultative reinsurance , and deep expertise across property and liability risks . The portfolio has a particular focus on trade sectors , media, music & events, and performing arts . Key Responsibilities Underwriting & Portfolio Underwrite and manage a portfolio of cross-class commercial combined risks Lead on complex business across property and liability lines Manage facultative reinsurance placement and strategy Drive portfolio performance, profitability, and growth Underwrite risks across key sectors including: + Trade, warehousing, and manufacturing + Leisure, media, music/events, and performing arts + Worldwide and temporary exposures, including hired-in/out equipment Leadership Lead and develop and mentor a team of 3 underwriters Set clear performance objectives and build technical capability Broker & Market Engagement Build strong broker relationships within specialist sectors Negotiate complex risks and support business development in a commercial manner and with full awareness of market conditions Position TMHCC as a market-leading specialist insurer Governance & Strategy Ensure underwriting discipline, compliance, and audit readiness Contribute to underwriting strategy and product development Drive innovation to keep TMHCC at the cutting edge of specialist insurance Key Skills & Experience Essential Strong underwriting background in commercial combined (property & liability) Proven experience writing cross-class business Experience with facultative reinsurance Deep technical expertise across: + Property and casualty risks + Trade sectors (warehousing, manufacturing) + Leisure, media, and events + Global and temporary exposure Proven ability to manage a profitable portfolio Strong broker management and leadership experience Desirable Experience in specialist or niche product development Exposure to international risks or programmes Qualifications (Desirable) ACII (or equivalent) preferred Degree or equivalent experience What We Offer A competitive salary and benefits package within a dynamic, growing global insurer, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of specialist underwriting.
