Mechanical/HVAC Designer x 2

Our client is a leading global EPCM company with worldwide operations and projects across Ireland. They are currently seeking experienced Mechanical/HVAC Designer to join their team. They have two positions available.

This role involves working as part of a multi-discipline highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, assembly & test facilities, and other state of the art advanced facilities.

The ideal candidate is a self motivated individual with strong communication skills and a passion for applying their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and rewarding projects. They understand the importance of meeting commitments while remaining flexible in a fast paced, ever changing client environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize, assign, and delegate necessary designer tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers.
  • Layout and design of HVAC systems for semiconductor manufacturing, assembly & test, or other advanced facilities.
  • Development of the mechanical systems designs in collaboration with mechanical engineers, including general HVAC, cleanroom HVAC with accurate temperature /humidity control, and plumbing system design.
  • Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including air flow diagrams, general arrangements and 3D models.
  • Layout of Ductwork systems based on a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)/Air Flow Diagrams (AFD).
  • Prepare final design documents associated with the systems. QC and clash detection of the design 3D model.
  • Collaborate in real time with other disciplines such as electrical, civil, structural, architectural, and process to develop designs.
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced designers on a project by project basis.
Requirements:
  • A minimum qualification of technical or associate's degree/diploma in building services/mechanical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • 4+ years of Revit HVAC design experience.
  • Strong command of English, written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
  • Adaptability to work within a fast paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.
Desirable:
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
  • Working knowledge or experience with any of the following software: Navisworks, AutoCAD, CADWorx or SmartPlant 3D.
  • Experience in the design of mechanical/plumbing/utility systems.
