Job Description
The Mechanical Test Engineer will work as part of TÜV SÜD's team of environmental test specialists, supporting the delivery of comprehensive mechanical and environmental testing services across multiple industries. Position Summary:

The Mechanical Test Engineer will work as part of TÜV SÜD's team of environmental test specialists, supporting the delivery of comprehensive mechanical and environmental testing services across multiple industries. This role involves conducting and managing mechanical tests, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and collaborating closely with customers to deliver high quality and accurate testing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical testing in accordance with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, and defined test plans.
  • Collaborate directly with customers during attended testing sessions to ensure satisfaction and technical clarity.
  • Record and manage test data using electronic logbook systems, producing test reports in line with company quality procedures.
  • Liaise with customers regarding test specifications, execution, and interpretation of results.
  • Work closely with the Test Supervisor to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of test plans, methodologies, and departmental documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within the testing service.
  • Proven experience working within a test laboratory environment.
Highly Desirable Requirements:
  • Hands on experience in mechanical testing, including operation of vibration shaker equipment.
  • Experience in delivering climatic test services.
  • Familiarity with test laboratory quality management systems and operational procedures.
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic, with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, ad hoc shifts, or at customer sites when required.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet defined deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
