Mechanical Inspector

We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering/manufacturing client who are looking to hire a Mechanical Inspector to join their Quality team, reporting to the QA Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring mechanical components, sub-assemblies and finished items meet engineering, quality and compliance requirements, supporting production continuity and customer expectations.

Mechanical Inspector - Key responsibilities - Quality, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering

• Inspect incoming components against drawings, specifications and purchase order requirements

• Carry out in-process and final inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies

• Identify, document and raise non-conformances in line with QMS procedures

• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions where required

• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and technical specifications

• Complete dimensional inspection using manual measuring tools and CMM (where applicable)

• Maintain calibration status and traceability of inspection equipment

• Record inspection results and quality data accurately in the ERP system

• Support goods-in and goods-out checks during busy periods

• Maintain housekeeping standards and follow safety/compliance requirements

Mechanical Inspector - Experience - Quality, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering

• Mechanical engineering background or strong practical inspection experience

• Confident reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings

• Mechanical inspection or quality assurance experience

• ERP experience and good MS Office skills

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
