About the Role
Islington Council is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Capital Programme Delivery - Engineering Team. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to deliver mechanical design, project management, and engineering leadership across new build and retrofit housing projects in the borough.
As a key part of our Housing Property Services, you will lead on the design, specification, and delivery of mechanical systems - from communal heating to low-carbon technologies - ensuring value for money and compliance with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities
Chartered Engineer or member of CIBSE (or equivalent experience/qualification).
Experience delivering complex mechanical systems (e.g., communal heating, heat networks).
Strong project and contract management skills.
Excellent technical knowledge and stakeholder communication abilities.
Commitment to innovation, quality, and resident-focused delivery.
