Mechanical Design Project Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery

Location: Nottingham - Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum D.O.E. Overtime available.

Express Recruitment is representing a special purpose machinery manufacturer in Nottingham, seeking a full time Mechanical Design Project Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering solutions and designs for all company products.
• Take responsibility for mechanical aspects of projects from conception to commissioning.
• Generate project related documents using CAD and related software.
• Attend internal and external meetings, including visits to customer sites for technical support and design expertise.
• Design initial concepts and contribute to costing and timescale reviews.
• Adhere to client specifications while complying with safe working practices and company standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience using 3D CAD for designing machines, jig fixtures, and/or mechanisms - SolidWorks experience highly desirable.
• Knowledge of applying tolerances and preparing detailed drawings and schematics.
• Experience designing special purpose machinery desirable.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or HND with relevant industry experience.
• Full, clean UK driving licence (mandatory for occasional travel to customer sites).
• Proven ability to collaborate with Project Managers and design teams.

Vacancy Summary

• Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week. (Mon/Tue 8 00, Wed/Thu 8 00; Fri 8 30).
• Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum D.O.E., overtime paid 1.33 for hours after the first two overtime hours.
• Job Type: Full Time, Office Based, Permanent.
