Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment from concept through to manufacture.
• Produce 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Design components and assemblies incorporating fabrication, sheet metal, and CNC machined parts.
• Work closely with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
• Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and design improvements.
• Manage engineering documentation and design changes.

Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
• Experience designing bespoke machinery or SPM equipment.
• Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design, and CNC machining processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
