Mechanical Commissioning Lead

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Milan. This role is with a Tier 1 M&E contractor and a senior site-based role within a fast-paced mission-critical environment, responsible for leading the mechanical commissioning process from system preparation through to testing, handover and client sign-off.

Responsibilities

• Review IFC drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
• Develop and manage the mechanical commissioning plan
• Coordinate commissioning activities with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors
• Ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements
• Verify and witness commissioning activities across mechanical systems
• Lead walkdowns, inspections, tag walks, and system sign-offs
• Manage commissioning trackers, reports, and progress updates
• Ensure all commissioning documentation and scripts meet client standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Mechanical Commissioning Lead or Senior Commissioning role
• Strong mechanical building services and commissioning background
• Experience delivering large-scale construction or mission-critical projects
• Data centre experience advantageous
• Excellent coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of QA/QC and commissioning processes
