What you'll learn and do

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair work on mine assets and equipment.
• Install new equipment and components under supervision.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PM) tasks to agreed schedules.
• Respond to corrective (reactive) maintenance tasks as required.
• Construct, assemble and maintain mechanical systems and components.
• Take part in technical and lubrication programme activities.
• Monitor the performance of machinery and equipment and identify potential issues early.
• Develop practical fault finding, repair and problem solving skills.

Entry requirements

Aged 18 years or over.

Leaving Certificate with a minimum of five passes at Ordinary Level, including English and Maths.

Skills and qualities we look for

• Willingness to learn and ask questions.
• A positive, proactive approach.
• Interest in technology, engineering or problem solving.

Practical details

• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Some flexibility required in line with operational needs.
• A structured apprenticeship combining on the job learning with off site training.
• Opportunities within the wider Boliden Group.
