Contract/Freelance Role: GSE Mechanics - Schiphol Airport, Netherlands €27-€30/hour + Overtime
Are you a freelance mechanic or contractor with experience maintaining HGVs, buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles?
Looking for a long-term contract in the aviation sector with a leading Ground Support Equipment (GSE) provider?
We're supporting a major GSE operation at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) and seeking skilled GSE Mechanics to join on a freelance/contract basis.
️ Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Maintenance and repair of diesel-powered GSE (baggage tractors, belt loaders, aircraft steps)
️ Diagnostics and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Servicing of electric GSE and airside transport vehicles
Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics
Carrying out routine servicing, emergency breakdowns, and preventative maintenance onsite
Contract Overview:
€27-€30/hour (freelance/Ltd basis - depending on experience)
️ 40 hours per week + paid overtime available
Long-term ongoing contract
Location: Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam
Invoice-based monthly payments
Accommodation and travel support may be available for the right candidate
You'll Need:
Strong background in HGV, bus, plant, or heavy-duty mechanical systems
Hydraulic system expertise
Confidence with electrical diagnostics
️ GSE experience preferred but not essential
️ Able to pass airside security clearance
Requirements:
Relevant mechanical/automotive qualifications
Valid EU driving licence
EU passport or full right to work in the Netherlands is essential
Based in or open to relocating to the Amsterdam area
Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Process: 2-stage (Teams or face-to-face)
