A packaging giant with factories in over 30 countries is embarking on a major investment to enter the Point of Sale/Large Format sector. We have recruited for this client for over 20 years and they continuously top our surveys for job satisfaction, high staff morale and positive working environment. They offer job security and unrivalled career prospects. They are at the final stages of purchasing a green field site of 40,000 sq ft as part of their ambitious plant investment programme.

Our client is therefore looking for a Managing Director who can get involved in the early stages of the expansion. If the notice period prevents immediate availability, they are willing to wait for the right Managing Director with the aptitude for making a real impact later in the investment process.

As the Point of Sale / Large format Managing Director, you will report to the Board of Directors and develop and implement business strategy for sustainable growth. Translating this strategy into operational plans, you will contribute to the delivery of profitable top line growth, great people, a world class facility and a leading brand.

The Managing Director is expected to delegate tasks, ensure adequate and satisfactory work output, and be responsible for any shortcomings made by staff. Hard work is expected, especially in the early stages of the plan's operation. Your role will involve analysing employee actions, identifying areas for improvement, providing training, and exercising effective leadership.

You should be assertive yet considerate, passionate yet logical, persuasive and inspiring. Strong communication skills are essential for keeping employee morale high. The role requires adaptability to changes, quick operational adjustments, and innovative problem solving.
