Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver high-quality teaching and maintain effective use of resources to improve standards of learning and achievement.
• Support the Head of Department with coordinating 11-18 provision, pedagogy, systems, intervention, pupil achievement, and results analysis.
• Tackle under-achieving pupils in a structured and supportive way.
• Plan collaboratively on a weekly basis or as indicated by the Head of Department.
• Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
• Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
• Organise and manage groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities.
• Ensure effective use of support staff within the classroom.
• Plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional, and cultural aspects of pupils' learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in a relevant field.
• PGCE or equivalent.
• Qualified teacher status.
• High standard of subject knowledge and enthusiasm for mathematics.
• Experience of and willingness to teach GCSE.
• Ability to monitor, evaluate, and improve learning in the classroom.
• Effective time management and personal organisational skills.
• Well-developed ICT skills for the classroom.
• A high level of commitment and enthusiasm for the department and extracurricular activities.
