Job Title: Maths Teacher
Location: Falkland House School, Perth PH2 7AR
Salary: Up to £50,589 per annum depending on experience and qualifications (Not pro rata)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start Date: December 2025

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our close-knit team at Falkland House School in Perth - part of the Options Autism division within Outcomes First Group. About the Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver SQA qualifications in Maths across a range of levels, from early secondary through to National 5 and beyond, depending on the needs and abilities of our pupils.
You'll be working in small class groups within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, providing personalised teaching that builds confidence and promotes academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality, engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learners
- Support the development and delivery of accredited SQA courses
- Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment, and experiential learning opportunities
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Use innovative, differentiated teaching strategies that meet the varied learning needs of pupils with autism
- Collaborate with education, care, and clinical colleagues to promote holistic development
- Provide pastoral support and build strong, positive relationships with pupils
- Take part in wider school life, including elective programmes and cross-curricular learning
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a committed and forward-thinking professional who is passionate about inclusive education and eager to support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning.
Essential Criteria:
- Full GTCS registration (General Teaching Council for Scotland)
- A recognised teaching qualification with Maths as a specialism
- A strong understanding of the Scottish education system and SQA qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage, inspire, and challenge young people with a range of learning needs
- Creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
- High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence, and a child-centred mindset
Desirable:
- Experience working in ASN/ASL settings
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches to education
- Ability to contribute to the wider curriculum, such as through outdoor learning, STEM, or functional skills
About Us
Falkland House School Perth and Am Bruach is an independent residential school for boys and girls from 12 to 23 years of age. Our young people have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. We have three residential houses within the building, accommodating up to 29 young people.
Falkland House School Perth opened in January 2023, currently supporting around 12 young people aged between 14 to 17 years of age towards greater independent living, support with college placements and community engagement.
Am Bruach opened in July 2022 and currently support two young adults towards greater independence and life skills.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
