Job Opportunity: Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist (6 months+)

Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
PAYE SALARY: £32,000 - £40,000 (Depending on Experience)

A leading global company is looking for a dedicated Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist to join their team in Basingstoke. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, playing a crucial role in ensuring all materials are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and order direct materials from internal and external vendors on time, prioritizing OTTR (On-Time to Request) and OTD (On-Time Delivery) targets.

  • Manage and report on the inventory of direct materials (Raw, WIP, Reserved, Aging) weekly, aiming to reduce stock holding and improve materials availability.

  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other business functions to ensure the timely and efficient supply of materials to meet production and service needs.

  • Identify and resolve parts shortages, explore re-use and alternative parts options, and proactively manage engineering change requests.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance materials management processes, reducing costs and improving service levels.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within a supply chain, materials, or stores function.

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

  • Degree qualification preferred.
