Material Management Assistant

To accept deliveries that are delivered daily and provide a service to wards and departments within the Trust as part of the internal and external supply chain and non-stock service. Occasionally cover within the Material Management team with put aways and Rugby St cross as and when required.

Main duties of the jobAssist in the receipt and distribution of ad hoc deliveries including the management of stock ordered for the bulk stores facility. To chase suppliers for missing paperwork, either by telephone or email, so that our service can continue to run smoothly. Take responsibility for the security of goods from the point of receipt.

Job responsibilitiesProvide cover for the Materials Management Officers during absence, where there is an increased workload or when requested by the Materials Supervisor or manager. Ensure stock items delivered are correct and have corresponding paperwork. Assess problem situations and determine the most appropriate course of action for resolving urgent requests from wards and departments, non-deliveries, lost or damaged goods. Work on own initiative in line with Departmental and Trust procedures, seeking supervisory assistance when necessary.
