Material Handler

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join the Hensall Food's team as a Material Handler at our Ready Meals Plant. The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, moving products and materials to designated locations in the warehouse, and assisting in picking and placing material orders. The handler also checks received orders and confirms all inventory transactions in the electronic inventory control program.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or equipment including forklift.
• Assist in taking inventory and weighing/checking materials.
• Assemble customer orders and prepare for shipping, including stacking, wrapping, and labeling products.
• Pick material from storage locations and stage them for production, maintaining electronic traceability.
• Use a handheld scanner to complete transactions and document the electronic inventory control program.
• Assist periodic inventory counts for raw and finished products.
• Receive incoming materials, store them properly, and ship finished products.
• Follow all HC Health and Safety (including proper cooler/freezer related PPE), Environmental, Quality, and HACCP policies and procedures.
• Report potential quality and food safety issues to HFI management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Logistics and/or Production Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a material handler in a warehouse/shipping environment.
• Experience with a forklift and a pallet truck.
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate with all departments.
