Job Description

Location - Kings Cross, 4 days per week

Where do you fit in?

As a key member of the Marketplace Operations team, you'll focus on operationalising and scaling the core products that power our marketplace - including subscriptions, bookings, payments, and value-added tools. Your mission is to improve how our products are adopted, priced, and experienced by members, ensuring we deliver consistent value while building the foundations for long-term growth.

You'll take full ownership of rolling out new marketplace products, managing pricing rules and governance, building scalable, repeatable processes, and driving user behaviour through targeted incentive programs - all to help create a more seamless and successful experience for tradespeople on Checkatrade.

  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to shape, test, and launch new features like self-serve plan upgrades or performance insights reporting.

  • Own pricing rules and governance, leading experimentation and ensuring integrity in our pricing logic.

  • Build automated, self-serve processes to reduce friction - such as tools that guide teams on appropriate discounting thresholds. Design and implement AI-enabled solutions that unlock efficiencies

  • Launch and run incentive programs to drive tradesperson engagement and adoption of core features.

  • Lead high-priority strategic projects that deliver against today's commercial goals while building for our future marketplace vision.

  • Use Excel, SQL, and BI tools to analyse performance data, identify growth opportunities, optimise pricing strategies, and drive greater value for our members.

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where your decisions and execution will shape the growth and success of the UK's largest home improvement platform

What do you need to succeed?

  • Analytical & data-led: Proficiency in Excel/Sheets; SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Looker, etc.) preferred.

  • AI-curious and automation-focused: You proactively seek out ways to improve processes with technology.

  • Strategic operator: Able to go from high-level thinking to on-the-ground execution.

  • Customer obsessed: You understand what drives value for tradespeople and build solutions around them.

  • Exceptional problem-solver: Able to simplify complexity, build business cases, and deliver tangible impact.

  • Cross-functional influencer: Comfortable collaborating with Product, Sales, Data, and Engineering to align efforts and deliver results.

  • Action-biased: You thrive in fast-paced environments, make decisions with limited information, and iterate quickly.

Basic qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, strategy, monetisation, or growth in a high-growth tech company or marketplace environment.

  • Proven track record with executing cross-functional initiatives with measurable commercial impact.

  • Experience working with pricing strategies, self-serve enablement, or growth experiments.

  • Positive and team-orientated "can-do" approach and willing to be hands on
