Job Description
To develop and deliver effective marketing strategies that drive footfall, online engagement, and customer loyalty for a long-established, family-run hardware and home improvement business. The role requires a blend of digital expertise, creative content development, and traditional marketing know-how.
Key Responsibilities Digital Marketing & Online Presence- Work with website developers to manage and update the company's website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and SEO-optimised.
- Develop and manage social media content (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to showcase products, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Coordinate Google Ads and Facebook Ads campaigns; monitor performance and adjust strategies to maximise ROI.
- Improve and maintain the store's Google Business profile, respond to reviews, and increase local SEO visibility.
- Support online sales or Click-and-Collect strategies, where applicable.
- Design and distribute in-store promotional materials (posters, leaflets, brochures).
- Liaise with local press/radio for seasonal advertising campaigns and community event sponsorships.
- Coordinate signage, displays, and POS materials for product launches and promotions.
- Develop relationships with suppliers for co-branded marketing and point-of-sale resources.
- Create and maintain customer mailing lists (GDPR-compliant); manage newsletters and promotional email campaigns.
- Monitor analytics from all channels (Google Analytics, Meta insights) and report on campaign performance.
- Suggest and implement loyalty schemes or referral programs to reward returning customers.
- 3 days per week (flexible schedule possible).
- Some occasional attendance for weekend events or seasonal promotions may be required with prior notice.
- Proven experience in digital marketing, website content management, and social media strategy.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools).
- Strong writing and editing skills for web and marketing materials.
- Familiarity with website platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or Shopify).
- Knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns at once.
- Experience working in retail, construction, DIY, or home improvement sectors.
- Familiarity with local media channels and community marketing in rural Ireland.
- Understanding of customer relationship management tools (e.g., CRM or POS marketing integrations).
- Creative, proactive, and enthusiastic about growing a local family business.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and adaptable in a small-business environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with staff, customers, and suppliers.
