Job Description

Castle Manufacturing is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Manufacturing Manager to join a well-established and ambitious engineering business based in North Yorkshire. This position offers the chance to play a key role within a busy machine shop environment, contributing directly to operational efficiency, production performance, and continued business growth.

This is an office-based position within the machine shop, responsible for coordinating production activities and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering materials and consumables from both existing and new suppliers
  • Creating and allocating job cards
  • Managing supplier progression and communication
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Production planning and manufacturing time estimation in collaboration with the Production Manager
  • Arranging subcontract work during periods of overcapacity
  • Managing external finishing processes
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings with sound material knowledge
  • Experience within a CNC machining environment is desirable
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience in inspection and quality management
