Job Description

Our client is seeking to recruit a Manufacturing Lean Technician to drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence across their site in Sligo.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives across manufacturing and site operations.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies and non-value-added activities.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S/6S, Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects and facilitate Lean/Continuous Improvement workshops.
  • Use KPIs, data analysis and performance metrics to identify opportunities and measure improvement.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Maintenance teams to deliver sustainable process improvements.
  • Track project objectives, actions, timelines and measurable benefits.
  • Promote standardisation, best practice and a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Support Lean training, coaching and employee engagement.
  • Ensure improvements, processes and documentation meet relevant quality, regulatory and ISO requirements.
  • Establish controls to sustain improvements and replicate successful initiatives across the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Lean, Quality or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence within a regulated environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Lean tools, including Kaizen, 5S/6S, Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience delivering process improvement projects and achieving measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and KPIs to identify improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Desirable:
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification or relevant Lean/Continuous Improvement training.
  • Experience with ERP/manufacturing systems and KPI reporting.
