Job Summary of FunctionThis position reports to Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader working within the Operations group and is responsible for supporting the equipment and processes required to produce High reliability electronic circuit card and system assemblies.
Responsibilities- Support day to day maintenance of SMT, PTH and Systems assembly equipment and manufacturing process procedures.
- Perform yield improvement monitoring of SMT, PTH & System assembly build quality, identify and resolve quality yield issues.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working order, adhere to preventative maintenance schedules and maximize machine uptime across SMT, PTH, Prep Equipment, Conformal Coating Equipment, Packaging Equipment, Torque Driver Equipment, Laser Marking Equipment, Aqueous Cleaning Equipment, Inspection Equipment & Production Equipment.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product and Design Engineers on New Product Introductions (NPI) for timely ordering of stencils, jigs, fixtures and creation of equipment programs for SMT, PTH, Inspection and Systems equipment.
- Program and debug computer controlled equipment.
- Select, order and maintain machine spares in accordance with equipment needs.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead and engineers on lean product flows, process improvements, new equipment installation and additive manufacturing.
- Maintain housekeeping of relevant work areas and spares storage areas.
- Provide training to other technicians and operators as required.
- Adhere to all company health and safety rules, regulations and risk assessments while on site.
- Travel to support new equipment selection and support to other Moog Sites throughout the corporation as needed.
- Operate with a Lean mind set - identifying and minimizing waste in all processes and from the greater Value Stream.
- Demonstrate high flexibility in resolving working problems and maintain interpersonal skills to work closely with others.
Greater than 2 years in a certified Electronics Manufacturing environment, applying Lean principles and contributing to improvement projects. Qualified trades personnel with industrial experience will also be considered.
EducationLevel 6 qualification in Electronics, Mechanical / Automation Electrical, Technology, Mechatronics or similar.
Personal AttributesThe successful candidate will be a problem solver, able to work on their own initiative with little supervision, in a manufacturing environment of rapidly changing priorities and keep production moving in the short term while having a long term focus on Lean and Continuous Improvement.
Working Hours and Schedule- Business demand may require overtime and/or shift at various times.
- This role is currently three 12 hour days which may include weekends.
- The candidate is expected to take a leadership role in shift scenarios to make decisions to ensure continuous productivity and throughput.
