Manufacturing Engineer - Boscombe Down
OverviewAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of engineering solutions within the Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC), ensuring designs for aircraft modifications and system developments are manufacturable, on time and within budget. You will collaborate with design, analysis, manufacturing, supply chain and integration teams to drive rapid prototyping and validation.
Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing interests, ensuring designs are producible on time and on budget.
- Manufacture and assemble prototypes for functional, static, dynamic, or flight test evaluations.
- Engage with Solution Team, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other team members to translate requirements into actionable solutions.
- Support a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the delivery teams.
- Work with Technical Leads to meet project technical outcomes and business needs.
- Support validation, conduct inspections and support generation of Form 1's or CofC's for output certification.
- Demonstrable experience in Manufacturing Engineering across the engineering lifecycle within the aviation domain.
- Strong engineering skills, with potential to serve as a Production Form 1 signature domain.
- Team player with proven ability to develop engineering solutions that meet defined requirements, on time and on budget.
- Experience in traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques, including hands on manufacturing in the relevant domain.
- Relevant manufacturing qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
This role is 37 hours per week, based at our Boscombe Down site, with a minimum average attendance of four days per week.
- Work days: Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm.
