The RoleLinsco is working with a well-established and highly reputable construction company seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. The role involves supporting the Regional Commercial team, requiring a passionate individual with keen attention to detail and accuracy in valuation processes.
- Manage the commercial function, ensuring compliance, control, deployment, and performance management of the quantity surveying team, with responsibility for achieving targets related to development budgets and controls.
- Support operational requirements, budgets, land acquisition, subcontractor tendering, payments, CVRs, cost reviews, variations, procurement, and ensure all activities meet company standards and procedures.
- Take responsibility for the Quantity Surveying function on at least one active key development, including subcontract procurement, site meetings, and CVR production.
- Contribute to the Commercial Land Appraisal process and site commencement programmes to accurately capture costs and revenues.
- Coordinate with build management and procurement teams regarding material supplies and subcontractor management, ensuring delivery of planned activities.
- Monitor material quality and supplier/subcontractor performance, providing feedback to management and suppliers as needed.
- Relevant qualification or significant experience in Commercial Management
- Proficiency in Coins, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Strong understanding of design and build methods and their commercial implications
- Broad finance and technical knowledge of construction industry practices
- Knowledge of construction regulations such as Building Regulations, NHBC, HSE, and Construction Design Management Regulations
- Analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proactive, energetic, and influential with a commercial mindset
