Your mission:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head Metrology to build and lead our dedicated metrology team. In this key role, you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational excellence of our laboratory equipment management processes across the full lifecycle - from onboarding to decommissioning. You will lead a growing team, ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable operational support in a GMP-regulated environment.

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing metrology team
• Own and drive the full equipment lifecycle: onboarding, qualification, maintenance, change management, and decommissioning
• Establish harmonized processes and documentation standards for equipment across all lab units
• Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements across all metrology activities
• Coordinate with external service providers and key internal stakeholders (labs, QA, IT, procurement)
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of equipment management and calibration routines
• Support audits and regulatory inspections as the responsible metrology lead
• Monitor KPIs and resource planning to ensure effective, scalable team operations

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, life science, or a related field - alternatively, extensive practical experience in metrology or equipment lifecycle management may also qualify
• Proven experience in laboratory equipment lifecycle management
• Leadership experience, ideally in a matrix or cross-functional team setting
• Deep understanding of metrology processes, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
• Very good English skills; German is an advantage
