An extremely prestigious international law firm has a new requirement for a Market and Competitive Intelligence Manager to join their London operation.This is a senior research and analysis role focused on delivering market, client and competitive intelligence that informs strategic decision-making, business development and growth initiatives across the firm. The position also supports partners and business teams with high-value insight that strengthens client relationships, market positioning and pursuit activity

Suitable candidates will almost certainly be highly experienced Research or Competitive Intelligence specialists from either law, professional services, banking or similar with expertise in distilling qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights.

The primary responsibilities and objectives of thisMarket and Competitive IntelligenceManagement role include, but are not limited to:

• Work closely with senior leadership and business teams to provide market intelligence that supports key strategic and commercial decisions.
• Monitor clients, competitors and wider market developments, identifying trends, risks and opportunities that could impact the firm's growth plans.
• Deliver insightful analysis on sectors, organisations and markets, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and target new opportunities.
• Support business development and client growth initiatives through intelligence-led research and opportunity idendification and development.
• Produce concise, high-quality briefings and reports for partners and senior management on market, client and competitor activity.
• Contribute to strategic projects including market positioning, practice development, client planning and lateral hiring initiatives.
• Champion new approaches to intelligence gathering, making effective use of technology, data and AI-driven tools to enhance insight delivery.

To be considered for thisMarket and Competitive IntelligenceManagement requirement, the following is required:

• Experience gained within competitive intelligence, market intelligence, business research, strategy or a comparable commercial insights function.
• Strong understanding of how organisations use market and competitive intelligence to drive growth and gain competitive advantage.
• Advanced research and analytical skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex or varied information sources.
• Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and translating findings into clear, practical recommendations.
• Experience using business and financial intelligence platforms such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, Mergermarket, Bloomberg or similar tools.
• Commercially minded, naturally curious and motivated by understanding markets, industries, competitors and emerging opportunities.
