The Role The purpose of this role is to support the Indirect Tax Senior Manager in managing the provision of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) technical support to the Corporation of Lloyd's and the Lloyd's Market, including both IPT advisory and IPT compliance elements. Principal Accountabilities Provide IPT technical guidance and query support to the Lloyd's market, including IPT guidance material published on where required. Maintain tax information and content on Crystal+ (Lloyd's database of tax information). Support the Indirect Tax Senior Manager with IPT audits and tax authority enquiries where required. Support the other Indirect Tax team members with IPT technical matters where required. Support the Indirect Tax team with its IPT compliance responsibilities through the review and sign-off of UK and overseas IPT returns/payments where required. Manage special IPT projects and transformation work where required. Manage existing Lloyd's IPT arrangements with various tax authorities globally and negotiate new arrangements for Lloyd's where required. Build and maintain relationships with the Lloyd's Market participants as one of the key contacts for IPT. Support the team in ensuring Lloyd's meet its risk and governance requirements in relation to premium taxes where required Be recognised as an insurance premium taxes subject matter expert inside Lloyd's and externally with the Lloyd's market and other relevant third parties. Contribute to an open and transparent culture of risk management and demonstrate a strong awareness of the risks that should be managed within the responsibilities of the role. Take proactive responsibility and accountability for delivery. Foster knowledge-sharing within and outside of the team. Skills Oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate tax-technical issues to a non-tax audience. Ability to work independently with guidance only on complex issues and organise and prioritise own work. Ability to work as part of a team and liaise with other departments and external contacts. Ability to analyse changes in legislation and assess impact of changes on Lloyd's and its members. Proactive attitude toward identifying issues and recommending solutions based on initiative, experience and understanding of procedures. Confidence to challenge information provided and to use initiative especially in dealing with areas of ambiguity. Consultative approach and the ability to manage conflicting views.
