A commercially focused finance role with real scale, influence and long-term progression. This is an opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on position within a growing, multi-entity organisation where finance plays a visible role in shaping operational and strategic decisions.

This role suits a Commercial Management Accountant who enjoys ownership, variety and working closely with senior leadership. You will partner directly with the Finance Director, helping drive financial insight across a complex operation within the transport and rail sector. The role is office-based in Great Dunmow, offering strong exposure to the wider business and access to key decision makers.

As a Commercial Management Accountant, you will sit at the centre of reporting, controls and commercial analysis, supporting a business that continues to evolve in both scale and complexity across the transport and rail sector.

• Producing monthly management accounts across multiple legal entities
• Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers
• Supporting cost centre reporting and delivering clear, meaningful monthly packs
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and year-end close processes
• Supporting external audit activity and working with advisors
• Playing an active role in systems improvement, including ongoing development of AccountsIQ
• Streamlining processes to improve reporting accuracy, insight and efficiency

• Strong management accounting experience in a multi-entity environment
• Confident balance sheet ownership, including fixed assets and journals
• Experience supporting statutory accounts and audit processes
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking responsibility for outcomes
• Commercially aware, with the confidence to engage and challenge constructively
• Strong systems and Excel skills, with an appetite for continuous improvement

• Indicative salary range of £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
• Permanent, full-time position with long-term development prospects
• Close working relationship with an experienced Finance Director
• Exposure to a large, operationally complex business in the transport and rail sector
• Office-based role in Great Dunmow, five days per week, offering visibility and influence
